this is pretty cool. See the cool tin above that is holding the tea and how the lid looks all aged and metallic? Well, below is the tin before they altered it.....

and here is the lid after two coats of gesso and then a coat of watered down black acrylic paint. Full instructions are here are on their site if you follow the link above, go ahead if you wanna, its good stuff, then come back and read some more on our site....we will wait .

Shabby Chic Altered Album Class

OK, so I am telling you about this class a little early, but I am excited about it. It is a distressed altered book we are making using the new Donna Salazar products, and even the corrugated board cover s acid free. We will bind the whole thing together with the bind it all. The sample is up in the store for you to see, so swing by and take a look at it and feel it in your hands. I love to be able to have the actual project in my hands and touch and look....

Lois has made it feel very "spring-y" by hanging flowered covered white branches from the ceiling as well as fun kites and butterfly catching nets.....Mom always makes things so festive.
We are having lots of fun ith the new Tim Holtz paper packs and distress inks....we have a nice selection of his new Sizzix dies, and it seems like we are continually reordering his embellishments and I can't wait until next month when his third paper pad comes out!

A Basic Grey Weekend with Kelly Goree

OK, so we are super excited!!! Kelly Goree from Basic Grey is going to spend the weekend with us at Memories a la Mode!!

We will be having a Basic Grey Extravaganza June 11th and 12th with Basic Grey Designer and Memory Maker's Master Kelly Goree!!! You DO NOT want to miss this! All the same Product Challenge a Huge Success!

We had the most amazing results from our first "All the same Products" Challenge. Everyone was offered the same products to make a project with and boy did we get get a bunch of wonderful entries.....thank you everyone - we will be doing this again!
